Privacy Policy

Brokefellas ("Brokefellas," "we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application operated by an individual based in California, United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Brokefellas is provided for education and entertainment and is intended for users located in the United States who are at least 18 years old.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to run the app:

• Account information. Your email address and a password, which you provide when you create an account. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see or store your raw password.
• Profile information. The gamer tag, avatar, age, country, state, and city you choose to enter. These are optional beyond your gamer tag and are used to rank you against comparable users.
• Financial information you enter. Assets, debts, savings goals, and related figures you add manually, plus the net-worth history the app derives from them.
• Financial information from linked banks (via Plaid). If you choose to connect a financial account, we use Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to do so. We receive account balances, account names, the last digits of account numbers, and account types. We never receive or store your bank login credentials — those are handled by Plaid directly.
• Technical and security data. Limited information needed to operate and secure the service, including anti-abuse signals processed by Cloudflare Turnstile when you sign up or log in.

How we use your information

• To provide the app's core features: tracking your net worth, calculating rankings and percentiles, and showing savings projections and milestones.
• To create, secure, and support your account.
• To prevent fraud, spam, and automated abuse.
• To comply with our legal obligations.

Brokefellas does not provide financial advice, and the figures and projections it shows are hypothetical and for informational purposes only.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising. We share information only with the service providers that make the app work, and only as needed:

• Supabase — our database, authentication, and backend hosting provider, which stores your account and app data on our behalf.
• Plaid — to connect and refresh your linked financial accounts. Plaid's handling of your information is governed by Plaid's End User Privacy Policy. By connecting a bank, you also agree to Plaid's policy.
• Cloudflare — for bot and abuse protection (Turnstile) on our sign-up and login screens.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of users, or in connection with a future change of ownership of the app.

How we store and protect your information

Your data is stored by Supabase in the United States. We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls that limit each account to its own data, and secure storage of any credentials used to connect to your financial accounts. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable measures.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account inside the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, financial data, goals, and history from our systems and disconnects any linked banks. Some records may be retained where required by law. You can also email us at info.brokefellas@gmail.com to request deletion.

Your rights and choices

You can access and update most of your information directly in the app, and you can delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what personal information we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA); because we do not sell personal information, there is nothing to opt out of in that respect. Children's privacy

Brokefellas is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be communicated within the app.
